What Pest Control teams ask first.
Can you build application records that satisfy our state's requirements?
Yes. Requirements vary by state and by product classification, so we start from your state agriculture department's actual record-keeping rule and build the capture form and retention around it. Fields are validated at entry so an incomplete record cannot be saved.
Will route optimization break the service windows we promised customers?
Not if it is built correctly. Frequency commitments, time windows, gate codes, pet restrictions, and commercial service hours are constraints the optimizer respects, not variables it ignores. Gains come from sequencing and territory boundaries rather than from squeezing customers.
We already use pest-specific field software. What is left to build?
Usually the analysis and compliance layer. Those platforms handle scheduling, routing, and recurring billing competently and are thin on route density across your whole book, true callback cost per account, technician licensing, and reporting shaped to your state.
Can the tech fill out the application record with gloves on and no signal?
That is the design requirement, and it usually decides whether the system gets used. The form is a few large controls: product picked from your own list with the EPA number filled in, rate and target pest from defaults for that service type, site and conditions in a tap or two. It works offline and syncs when the truck is back in range. If a tech needs more than one demonstration, we change the form, not the tech.
We are still on paper for the old records. Do we have to type all of that in?
Usually not by hand. Document processing can read scanned tickets and extract the date, customer, product, rate, and applicator into the same structure the new records use, with a person reviewing what it was unsure of. How far back to go depends on your state's retention period; typically we load what is still inside that window and archive the rest as scans, searchable by customer and date. Your filing cabinet becomes a search box rather than a project.
